Steve Venuti is president of HDMI Licensing, LLC, the agent
responsible for licensing the High-Definition Multimedia Interface™ ![]() specification, and was instrumental in the public launch of HDMI™. In his current role, Mr. Venuti works closely with other HDMI consortium founders to drive business strategy. Steve is also responsible for marketing initiatives for the HDMI consortium, including evangelizing HDMI to manufacturers, retailers and consumers, as well as for enforcing conformity with the HDMI standard. HDMI founders include Hitachi, Ltd., Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (Panasonic), Philips Consumer Electronics International B.V., Silicon Image, Inc., Sony Corp., Thomson, Inc. and Toshiba Corp. Since 2002, Steve has served as HDMI's Vice President of Marketing, and worked closely with all Founder companies to manage the initial launch of HDMI in the marketplace at CES 2003 in Las Vegas. Steve was responsible for all outbound HDMI programs with Adopters, retailers, home theater installers as well as consumers. Previously, Steve was the President of a marketing and advertising company: LVL Communications. At LVL, Steve helped many well-known technology companies launch their products, including Acer Computer, Fujitsu, Netgear, Palm, and DirecTV. Steve also established LVL Interactive to bring new media capabilities to technology companies, including the development of many landmark ecommerce sites (Egghead.com launch in 1995 and Cisco Systems' initial eCommerce effort), as well as online marketing programs for many global 1,000 companies (Disney, Oracle, Netscape, HP, Sears, AIG and others). Steve received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz and master’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley. |
